Boxed Anvil Apex Fly Tying Vice. USA Made. Excellent Vice. Inc. J clamp.

For sale here is my faithful Anvil Apex Vice. USA made. I have upgraded because I was offered an upgrade for a price I couldn't say no to. To be honest I am having trouble adjusting to the new vice. I am not finding it easy to move my hands around it especially with my magnifying lamp between me and the vice but I think I'll soon get used to it. My hands and fingers have developed muscle memory after using the Apex for so long. The vice has some varnish blobs on the jaws which is unavoidable over time. The jaws are not showing any signs of wear and close with perfect alignment which gives a very good hookhold. Please note the jaws have indentations. These are not wear or defects but are for using larger hooks when tying saltwater or predator flies. The base has some small blobs of head cement here and there. No doubt these could be removed but would probably damage the blacked finish. A common fault is for the black covers on the locking screws to crack which has happened to the one on the head. The other one is fine. This is a simple fix with super glue or are cheap to buy from a hardware store. The base has all it's four soft plastic feet. J clamp included which I have never used. I have never over tensioned the vice which would damage the cast jaws of the vice which sometimes happens but this is certainly because of operator error. Please see all photos as they form part of the description. The vice is heavy so therefore it falls into the shipping category next up from 2kgs. There's only one Allen key in the box. There was two. A replacement is easily sourced.
