GARCIA MITCHELL 624 MULTLIER SEA FISHING REEL MADE IN FRANCE 1964

Garcia Mitchell 624, multiplying sea fishing reel. Reasonably heavy-duty boat reel.Credit: Worldseafishing. The Garcia Mitchell 600 series casting reels (600, 600AP, 602, 602AP) were manufactured in France between the mid-1960s and the mid-to-late 1980s. They were no-nonsense sea multipliers with no high-tech frills, having fixed bearings and (like many multipliers of the time) no braking system other than the spool tension anti-backlash control. Still, they were very well-made reels which cast well (they held at least one record) and were generally a pleasure to use, given the essential ingredients of a decent casting technique and an educated thumb. Features were a manual free-spool lever, star drag, anti-reverse (not switchable), switchable click-check and spool tension control.Condition: Full working condition. The reel is in great order, with some minor and commensurate age wear. There is also slight corrosion on small parts of the stainless steel frame, which can be easily cleaned up. All photos are considered part of this description and should be studied in detail.
