Vintage Boat Fishing Rod, 5'6", made by Ryds of Sweden, c.1950s/60s.

A really good, solid vintage boat rod, 5'6" in length.The rod was made by Ryds of Sweden, probably in the late 50s or early 60s.Named after the town of Ryd in the province of Småland, Sweden, Ryds Båtindustri were formed as a maker of fishing rods by javelin thrower Gunnar Petersson in 1948.This was my Dad's boat rod, which he may have bought when the family lived in Jersey, before I was born in 1960!He didn't do much sea fishing once we returned to the mainland, so the rod has hardly been used for the last 50+ years.It's in very good condition, a bit of corrosion on the rings but the reel seating is clean. The only "damage " is that the rings nearest the handle has got string around one of the rings seatings. I have no idea why, perhaps that ring came loose and Dad did a makeshift repair! Anyway, it just needs removing and re-whipping.This is an excellent quality rod, made by a renowned rodbuilder. It's old, but it's perfectly serviceable.
