Description
So here we have two different styles of coarse fishing reels. The fixed-spool reel is an early model with a partial bale arm that opens and closes manually. There is a four-pronged nut that appears to tighten down the spool. When the bale arm is closed, the handle will turn the spool in either direction, effectively reeling the line in or out. The name 'Lingo' (or maybe 'Cigno') is embossed on one side. There does not appear to be any other writing that I can find, and the remains of the sticker on the side are unreadable. This is accompanied by what I believe to be a small centrepin style of reel, or maybe its a little fly reel, I don't know. The only writing that I can find on it is the number '80' stamped under the foot. This reel is made of metal and needs a good clean and polish. There is a button on the front face that engages a ratchet clicker when slid toward the centre. The handle looks to be made of tortoiseshell or something similar. (It is a bit translucent when I hold it up to the light) The spool measures 6cm across by about 2.5cm width.I would imagine that both these reels are now redundant in use but would make interesting conversation or display pieces, and may be of interest to a collector.
