"Golden Era" Hardy Bros. 2 7/8" Perfect fly reel, likely manufactured in Alnwick between 1928 and 1932.Owned from new by "Mr Bracie", and given to me 50 years ago when he was too old to fish any more. It has sat in a drawer ever since.Model: 2 7/8" Perfect.Check Mechanism: Duplicated Mark II.Spool Design: "Screw-in" threaded winding plate.Finish: Original dark charcoal/black "leaded" graphite patina (inside and out).Foot: Ribbed brass. Pat. No. 272409 (62mm).Line Guide: Fixed nickel silver. (Factory Right-Hand Wind).Markings: Classic curved/circular "Alnwick" stamping.Handle: Brown composition/bakelite.Maker's mark: JS (James Smith).
