Vintage Pflueger Medalist Fly Fishing Reel No. 1498 Diamolite Guard Made in USA

Vintage Pflueger Medalist fishing reel, Patent No. 1498, manufactured in the USA. This classic centrepin-style reel features a black painted finish with perforated spool design and trademark wooden handle. The reel is marked 'Line Grand' and shows 'WFE' designation. The black finish displays paint wear and chipping in several areas, most noticeably on the rim and body sections. There are patches of surface discolouration and light corrosion on the metal components. Fishing line is currently spooled on the reel. The mechanism appears complete with all visible screws and components present. The wooden handle and centre button retain their original finish with natural ageing.
