It’s casting distance doesn’t compete with modern carbon rods but it puts baits at a reasonable distance with braid lines for the bigger fish or conger. It’s idea for off the rocks knock about rod. Certainly you would need dynamite damage the rings- won’t crack with a drop like the modern ones. A Good conger rod to leave set up while you fish with your best carbon surf rod.
