Description
I bought this years ago for adventure racing and mountain marathons, it’s the lightest system I could find weighing 80 gm for the mattress and mini inflator. You’ll need to buy your own sausage balloons to go with it, it takes 7. The balloons fit into pockets in the super lightweight material which you then sleep on. Sleeping length is 120 cm so shoulders to bum for most people. Beware, this is for obsessives and masochists only. After a long hard day you need to find the energy to inflate 7 long thin balloons, then find a way to balance on them in your tent, it’s like sleeping on a bag of snakes. Your sleep may well be made more fun by the occasional bursting balloon, I think 2 last time I used it. I only used it a handful of times but, at this distance, they’re fond memories. I’ve had this in a drawer for ages and can’t bring myself to just chuck it away. I’m happy to pass proud ownership on to someone else though, at least it’ll be a talking point. A Google search has the lightest current airbed at 268 gm and £210, this little devil gives you the kit bragging rights.
