Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Ultra Mag XL IV Multiplier Fishing Reel.   Made in Sweden Line capacity: 250m x 0.45mm Magnetic Braking System Lock Out Level Wind Fast Spool Change Spare Spool   I bought this new in the 1980’s.  There is surface corrosion on the cross bar and wear on the plastic covers (but no cracks), none of these blemishes effects the reels operation.   I always wash the salt from my reels with fresh water before storing them, but this approach hasn’t prevented the light corrosion to the cross bars.   I recently overhauled the gear mechanism and have given the internals a light oiling, but in dismantling the reel, a cross-bar bolt sheared. I was able to replace it with a stainless self-tapping screw and it seems to be a good quality repair (the repair is behind the cover plate hence is not visible).   I have since bench tested it and it all seems to be in good working order, although it’s not actually been used for fishing for a long time.
