Description
A beautiful and rare Bob James Centrepin, purchased in the 1990’sCant remember but I think Youngs made it, very similar to the Dave Swallow MK1 or the original Arnold Kingpin. As you can see its in very good used condition for the age. Spins very well with no wobble.Nice lightly knurled rim to stop those bigguns. An absolutely fantastic iconic reel and you don’t see many around.I always want to list my items accurately, so you can bid in confidence.I used this reel for river fishing for barbell and big chub, and also to long trot the crease in heavy winter flows for graying. It could also be used for pike or carp.As i said It spins freely and true, with a good strong ratchet. Now for the technical details. This pin has a floating shaft, meaning it moves up and down inside the drum. The reason for this is the nut at the back can be used as a tensioner to slow the reel down if ledgering, or float fishing in a heavy flow.If you take the back of the reel, you must pull the screw section of the shaft fully up through the hole and tighten the nut by pulling it upward while screwing it down, if you don’t the reel wont run correctly. The nut should not be screwed to tightly or you will engage the tensioner,Any other questions please ask.I am having a big clear out of my barbel pins, and a couple of rods, so please keep an eye out. Happy bidding 😎
