Penn Mag Power 980 fishing reel.Well looked after tough as old boots Cult top American Surfcasting Reel.   Designed for long casting heavy gear this rugged reel also incorporates the gearing of heavier expensive Penn models.   A smooth drag system.   In the Penn Catalogue it says :     ‘Mag Power Series - Penn Mag Power casting reels are true fishing reels. Precision made. Penn tough. Great for surf or boat. A single powerful magnet made from precious rare earth materials literally puts the brakes on the spool to prevent backlash. The magnetic braking control creates a magnetic field which resists the passage of metal (the spool) through its field.
