Description
Here we have a Lee & Wigfull of Sheffield 4 inch Centrepin Reel, 1930's England, Lovely Quality.Really nice float fishing reel, one and one eighth inches in overall depth, ideal for trotting the river. Made in Sheffield by a high quality manufacturer. Lee & Wigfull were primarily makers of silver and electroplated cutlery and tableware from 1871 until their final demise in 1968. Uniquely for Sheffield they used an Anchor trademark (usually this was used as an Assay mark for Birmingham made Silver & Gold) with L&W ether side.At some point in the 1930's they made a selection of quality centrepin fishing reels. This is one of the best I have seen, made in in Alloy & Brass with lightly crazed Xylonite handles. This reel is working very well, having been cleaned and oiled. There is an on/off check operated by a sliding button mounted on the backplate. All in all a lovely classic centrepin reel in lovely condition to use as intended, see photos.Any International buyers, please contact me for accurate shipping charges. The quoted amount is for Worldwide and Europe is still fortunately a little less expensive.
