Hardy Alnwick Salmon Trout Fly Hook Fishing Box 15 Compartments Girodon Pralon

Measures 15.5cm by 9.25cm and 2.25cm tall.A good antique Hardy Bros Girodon Pralon black enamelled or japanned pocket salmon or trout fly fishing hook box or tin. Inside it has 15 compartments with lids to hold the flies. There are quite a few flies within them. The top of the lid has the small metal oval panel with the makers mark that reads Hardy Bros makers Alnwick. The lid huts tightly. Probably dates to the late 19th or early 20th century century.Condition is good/fair with signs of use. There are a few dents to the lid and some small scrapes and scratches all over. The lid shuts well. General wear from age and use. All of the lids open and close. Original cream enamel to the interior with flaking to the underside of the lid and small well to the left.
