Description
The Garcia Mitchell 304 is a classic French-made spinning reel first introduced in the early 1950s as a rebrand of the earlier "CAP" model. It was marketed by the Garcia Corporation as a budget-friendly or "light" alternative to the flagship Mitchell 300, often used for trout and light freshwater fishing.Manufactured in Marignier, France.Build: Features a distinct "round-body" design with a metal rotor housing and spool.Equipped with Planomatic gearing for line cross-winding, which helps prevent line tangles.Typically features a 3.2:1 retrieve ratio and weighs approximately 230g and a large-capacity aluminium spool.Major production occurred from approximately 1953 through the mid-1960s.Evolution: In 1957, Mitchell officially added numbers to their models; the "CAP" model became the 304.Known for its simple, durable engineering that allows it to "live forever" if properly lubricated.Good conditionTicks like a clock on ratchet and is as smooth as silk when off .I believe this reel has never been used
