Vintage W.R. Products Speedia Deluxe 4” Centrepin Reel Boxed Trotting

Identification W.R. Products “Speedia Deluxe” 4” centrepin / trotting reel in original labelled box. Made in England, probably late 1940s to early 1950s. This is the sought-after Deluxe model with twin ivorine handles, ventilated spool and check mechanism. The box label showing “W.R. Products (Engineers) Ltd” and “Speedia Fishing Tackle Products”  Vintage W.R. Products Speedia Deluxe 4” Centrepin Reel  Vintage W.R. Products “Speedia Deluxe” 4” centrepin fishing reel complete with its original labelled box. A classic English-made trotting reel dating from approximately the late 1940s / early 1950s and highly regarded for traditional river fishing. Features include: 4” diameter spool Black finish with ventilated spool Twin ivorine handles Rear mounted check mechanism Brass/steel internal gearing Original W.R. Products box with surviving label Condition is very good vintage used condition overall. The reel spins nicely and the check mechanism functions correctly. Internally the reel appears clean and original. There is cosmetic paint loss and edge wear around the rims and foot consistent with age and use, as shown in the photographs. The original box is worn and tatty but survives well for age and adds greatly to collectability. A very collectible traditional centrepin reel and a nice usable example for trotting or display.
