A scarce early vintage fly fishing reel by J.S. Walker Bampton & Co., Makers, Alnwick. An attractive small 3” trout fly reel dating to approximately the early 20th century, featuring: Alloy construction Brass reel foot Brass handle/check fittings Internal click/check mechanism Maker’s stamp: “J.S. WALKER BAMPTON & CO MAKERS ALNWICK” The reel appears original throughout with pleasing untouched patina. The spool rotates correctly and the check mechanism is functioning. A desirable collector’s piece from a lesser-seen Alnwick maker associated with traditional North Country tackle production.
