Rare Vintage Hardy Steel Centre “The Wye” 14ft 6” 3 piece (plus shorter spare tip) Palakona split cane Fly Rod in excellent (refurbished) condition. Lockfast joints, burgundy eye and intermediate whippings, lined butt and tip rings, turned hardwood stoppers and a 24” cork handle with single slip ring universal reel seat. This Rod, stamped A49997 appears to have been professionally refurbished and comes with an original but tatty Hardy 4 pocket cloth bag included.Condition * Cane straight no sets or damage, spare tip is 4” short* Eyes and whipping appear to be original* Varnish excellent, consistent with professional refurb* Markings, no name but stamping present * Cork handle clean and complete* Bag tattyAlthough un-named this rod appears to be consistent with a Steel Centred “The Way” built by Hardy’s of Alnwick.Un- assembled Length 150cm. 684
