A Fine Pair Of Rare J Bernard & Sons Victorian Brass Salmon Fly Reels 4¼"+ 3¾"

A stunning rare pair of vintage J Bernard & Sons antique Victorian brass salmon fly reels, measuring 4¼" and 3¾". These wide drum salmon fly reels date to somewhere between 1850 and 1885, despite their age they are still in perfect working order and in good general condition. There are the initials TF inscribed neatly on the rear of the 4¼" reel but otherwise they have no major marks or cracks. They both retain their original reel foot with no alterations and both have the makers inscription still clearly visible on the front face of the reel.They are classic early examples of plate wind reels with bone handles and a loud click and pawl drag system still in perfect working order.
